Values in Action

As stated by Ministry of Education, Values in Action nurtures our students to become socially responsible and develops their sense of belonging and commitment to our country. Through participating in community work, students also learn the value of service and develop lasting friendships with one another.

Service Learning is an approach where VIA participants not only serve the community, but also learn to identify with the needs of the community and to reflect on their own experience in working with the community so that they have a better understanding and appreciation of what it involves.

Five Minutes Cleaning Daily During Last Lesson of the Day

The Ministry of Education (MOE) wants to make classroom cleaning a daily affair for students. By the end of 2016, daily cleaning by students will be introduced in all schools, said Acting Minister for Education (Schools) Ng Chee Meng. This is being introduced with the aim of inculcating in students a sense of responsibility and good life habits. According to MOE, all schools from primary schools to junior colleges have autonomy in the implementation of daily cleaning.
