2016 Principal's Message
It is my privilege to write this message as the new Principal of Bendemeer Primary School (BPS). I am Tan Siew Tiong, this is my 24th year in the education service. I started my teaching career in Nanyang Primary School and then moved on to serve in Elias Park Primary School, White Sands Primary School and North Spring Primary School. The last school that I served was East Coast Primary School where I served as the principal of the school for the last 7 years. As the new principal of the school, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs See Lai Kwan, the former principal of BPS, for laying a good foundation for the school. I will continue to work closely with the key personnel, teachers and stakeholders to build on this solid foundation and chart the future direction for the school so as to better serve our pupils.
In BPS, we believe that every child can learn and achieve if given the right support and environment. It is with this belief that we seek to provide a holistic education which encompasses both character development and academic excellence coupled with varied learning opportunities for our pupils to explore and to discover their aspirations and talents. Our vision is for every pupil to become ‘Lifelong Learners, Rooted in Values’. To steer us towards our vision, we have envisaged in our school’s mission of wanting to ‘Nurture every individual to be an independent learner with an inquiring mind and strong moral values’.
With our vision in sight and our mission as our guide, we will continue to strive to do our level best to nurture in our pupils a sense of curiosity about the world around them, to cultivate in them a deep sense of responsibility for their own learning and to foster in them strong moral values to serve as a guiding light in their quest for knowledge and skills.
On this note, we seek your continual support and collaboration as we work together to provide a holistic education for your child. Together, let us look forward to another year filled with rich experiences and achievements.
